Dae, the Switzer brand guardian and cultural conservator vividly remembers the Switzer bags from his childhood in Amsterdam. He was charmed by the top-notch quality and the unpretentious looks.

HISTORY

The original shop, Switzer All Canvas Products at Prinsengracht, specialized in sailing supplies, opened in 1957. Over the past decades their classic shopping bags spawned a loyal following and gained international appreciation.

Unfortunately, the shop closed in 2016.

THE MEETING

A serendipitous meeting between Dae and the granddaughter of the founder, Henderik Switzer, decided the fate of the brand. She recognized shared values and entrusted the family name to Dae for a relaunch.

Almost 70 years since establishment and Switzer is still around.
